Yom Huledet Sameach: Aviel Turns Two!

On March 12, we had the pleasure of celebrating Aviel's second birthday! What a blessed two years we have had getting to know this little guy! He has brought so much joy into our life and I can hardly believe he is getting so big!  Here are some memories from his party this year..

Here's a little family photo

We celebrated at a little playground located just behind our building.

Here's the buffet... Fruit Salad, Kosher Pigs in a Blanket, Tabouli Salad, Salsa and Toritillas, and a Chocolate Chip Cake! All homemade!

For the kids, I painted a road and train tracks scene across 12 gift bags, filled with little treasures. They also worked as nice decor.  I kind of hated to part with them! Aviel helped me make the little race cars from toilet paper rolls.

Here's another view.

I had some trouble light the number 2 sparkler in his "tire" cake because it was quite windy!

Fortunately, I had Tamar around to help me out... and we had two songs to sing... "Happy Birthday" in English and "Yom Huledet" in Hebrew....

Hi Yom Yom Hueledt
Hi Yom Yom Huledet
Hi Yom Yom Huledet le Aviel!

Our wonderful wonderful friends.

And we opened presents...

Aviel was a little overwhelmed and not quite sure what to do with all of the wrapping paper...

But he loved all of his gifts and had a great day!

Thanks for celebrating 2 wonderful years of Aviel with us!

  2. Yes! I used a chocolate buttercream frosting. I don't normally ice chocolate chip cakes, but I was trying to make a tire for him. It needed to be dark all over! ;)
